A pet taxi, that’s a great idea, why pay the joining fee to join a franchise when I can just start out on my own?
The thing is transporting pets, is really not as easy as you think. There’s soooooo much more to it than just pop a dog in the car or a cat in a basket.

Outwardly, we make it look easy, because we actually know what we are doing.
So far in our founding area of Milton Keynes, we’ve had 4 other people copy over the last 10 years and all have failed.
Whilst the copiers copy….
Whilst the copiers copy, they don’t know or understand about our commercially sensitive information, that’s how to actually transport pets, this is what we train you on when you join as a franchisee (and there’s a lot that takes over 3 days to cover).
Let’s look at some of the things we’ve seen the copiers do;
- Use a folding wire crate
- Put a cat in the boot
- Put both a wire folding crate and a cat in the boot
- Not enough space for dogs
- Not using the right equipment
- Not knowing all the rules/regulations/legal requirements
- Not fully understanding the Animal Welfare Act on transporting pets
- Not knowing everything we know about transporting pets
Not knowing all this can land you in a heap of trouble, not only if you were reported to DEFRA, RSPCA, RCVS, or just the general fall out of risking an animal’s life by not transporting pets correctly.

People can and will sue for anything in this day and age, and they will spread everything across social media and in a heart beat that business you invested in and built is now in tatters and you have nothing to show for your money.
Because even when people do copy, they’ve still got start-up costs.
The benefits of joining a franchise
When you join a franchise, yes, the start-up costs may be slightly more than if you started by yourself but then you know 100% you are doing everything right and you have the backing of not only the country’s leading authority on pet transport, but also the backing of an entire brand behind you.
More on this next time.
