I’m part of the 0.8% who made it!
What a true honour to have met the man himself in person at the annual #SBSEvent2023. Only 0.8% of the people who enter the #SBS awards ever win.
That’s the Small Business Sunday awards Theo himself started in 2010 over on Twitter. Each week businesses can tweet Theo with the #SBS tag and talk about their business.
Each week 6 businesses are chosen to win with a retweet to Theo’s 500k+ followers. It’s a pretty big deal to win!

As someone who left school with no qualifications, didn’t go onto Uni or work in the corporate world, I have always had that niggle in the back of my mind questioning whether I am good enough, know enough or if people would believe in me.
Winning the #SBS award was a real turning point for me
I know I have created something awesome in a pet taxi. I know my business is so very needed in society. I know that the right people will love their job when they join as a Franchisee.
To have it confirmed by someone like Theo Paphitis was just amazing.
Being at the #SBSevent was just the most amazing experience. To be in a room with all of the other 0.8% of winners was incredible.

It was great to hear from all these people including Theo himself who gave a great talk on the trials and tribulations of business.
I’ve invested a lot in the website to sit at the top of Google organically in most parts of the UK. This is of huge benefit to franchisees with 40% of their customers coming from the website.
I’ve invested a lot of work on my mindset and can help others with this, including becoming a qualified coach.
Changing careers mid way through life is so liberating and I’m always encouraging others to live the life they want.
It’s never too late to change careers.
Anything worth having is most definitely worth working hard for
I’ve worked incredibly hard to get to where I am now, and after 8 years of hard slog, I’ve been recognised by one of the best Dragon Den stars!
