What have you ever spent money on, where you earned that money back and a whole load more?

What have you ever spent money on, where you earned that money back and a whole load more?

Think about what you spend money on.  Chances are it depreciates in value doesn’t it?

Clothes? You spend a fortune on them, only to try and sell second-hand for pennies!

Food; wow that costs a fortune these days and nothing to show for it but a few extra inches around the waist!

Holidays; oh yeah you had the best time EVER, but it took a year to save for and was over in a WEEK!!

Cars; the second-hand car market is better than it used to be, but still you buy it for thousands, only to sell it for thousands less a couple of years later

Why is everything in life a liability?!!

When it’s not a liability; but an asset

Other than a house; which is one of the few things in life that you can generally make money from and even then that’s debatable (and takes forever to gain equity), can you even think of 1 other thing that you buy and it makes you money? Or is worth more after you bought it?

I’m racking my brain but can’t think of anything I’ve bought that was worth more after I brought it (other than my house).

Except for my business that is; Pets 2 Places MK is worth a lot of money.

Let’s do the maths together…

A business is worth 2.5 times the profit.

So let’s say you brought a Pets 2 Places franchise at £8500 (the current pilot Franchise price, which won’t be around much longer)..

Let’s say 5 years after starting you decide not to renew your franchise agreement when the term ends. How much can you sell your business for?

Now imagine your profit is 40k a year, a very modest sum

So the standard Franchise resale price is 2.5 times the profit:

£40,000 x 2.5 = £100,000

less £8500 (your original investment)

=      £91,500 profit

Plus you also earned a wage for 5 years too, made a ton of new friends, and made the biggest impact in your community.  You’ve also spent 5 years with pets all day and had a fulfilling and rewarding career and lived your best life.

Not a bad investment of £8500.

There may not be much in life that is worth more after you brought it, but a business that is run the right way; will be A LOT more.
